Spooky, Scary, and Downright Silly Jack-O-Lanterns

A favorite Halloween past-time involves carving up pumpkins into spooky faces or shapes, and sometimes silly designs. When you carve a jack-o-lantern for Halloween, do you stick to the traditional triangle eyes and evil-looking toothy grin or do you get a bit more creative? Need some inspiration for this year’s jack-o-lantern? Check out some of these jack-o-lantern photos for ideas. It’s amazing what people can do with a pumpkin, isn’t it?

This guy makes me rethink having that piece of pumpkin pie!

I’m not sure if this little guy warrants an Aaaaah! or an Awwwww reaction.

Maybe it’s just because I live in a heavily-wooded area, but the image of a creepy tree come-to-life is much more frightening to me than a mean little face on a pumpkin any day.

This is what happens when baseball fans just aren’t quite ready to let go of the season yet.

Poor Bill. How would you like your misdeeds displayed on the side of a pumpkin?

These guys almost look like an acapella group — I wonder what tune they’re waiting to belt out.

If you were coming at me with a carving knife, I’d probably make this face too!

It looks like even jack-o-lanterns enjoy the company of furry little friends.

The teeth on this jack-o-lantern impress me. I always did suck at creating cool creepy teeth.

Anyone who would even think to carve a Thundercats jack-o-lantern is A-OK in my book!

You have to love Alfred Hitchcock. Seeing this has the theme song from his series going through my head — perfect suspenseful shows and films to watch around Halloween.

It almost seems like a shame to get this artistic with something that’s literally going to rot away.

Somebody must want to scare the kiddies away from their house this Halloween. This jack-o-lantern’s sure to do the trick!
